My Experience:

•20 years experience as a bi-lingual risk management and corporate governance professional creating and delivering risk management strategy in three FTSE100, one FTSE250 and a private Swiss company (Arjo Wiggins Appleton plc; Exel plc; Kingfisher plc; Tetra Laval International; Morgan Crucible plc).

•20 years in the insurance industry in risk management, marketing and underwriting.

•Sector experience in paper making, distribution and logistics, retail, packaging, industrial ceramics, mining, food, insurance.

•Lived and worked in the USA, Australia, Belgium, France, Switzerland.  French speaker.

•Chartered Engineer

•Chairman of Airmic 2011/12 (UK Risk Managers Association)

•Vice-President of Ferma 2006/11 (European Risk Managers Association).

•Voted ”European Risk Manager of the Year, 2007”.

Current areas of work:

•Independent Chair of the Business Ethics Committee of Mabey Bridge Limited.

•Non-Executive Director of Ascot Underwriting Limited, including Chair of Risk Committee.

•Current member of the Group of Experts at UNECE working group on risk in regulation. (UN Economic Commission for Europe)

•Assisting Executives and Boards in reviewing current risk management practices and working with them to deliver improvements (Construction, health, distribution sectors)

•Developing and running training for senior management and Non-Executive Directors

•Assisting Executive management to buy cost-effective and fit-for-purpose insurance programmes
