Liz Macann

With a history in General Management, HR, OD and Consultancy, Liz trained as an Executive Coach in 2000 and has since had a continuous and diverse client group of senior executives and leaders in the media, professional services and public sector at home and abroad. Liz began to be aware of a non-directive approach to life and work in tribal villages in India and through working with a Horse Whisperer at home.

 

Liz was voted Coach of the Year by readers of Coaching at Work magazine. She now coaches Senior Executives and high potential middle management across the organisational spectrum.

Liz facilitates the creation of pathways to new thinking in clients who are ready to make changes in order to achieve great outcomes - developing their personal leadership so that their confidence, clarity and innovation increase as their understanding of ‘Self’ grows in facing up to the ‘tough stuff’.

 

Background and Coaching Experience:

 

As Head of Executive, Leadership & Management Coaching at the BBC, Liz co- founded  the BBC’s in-house coaching provision in 2001 and developed the initial offer into the Executive Coaching Network, which won the 2008 International Coach Federation award for best practice and professionalism.  

 

During her 11 years in the role Liz created the executive coach training course (accredited through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and International Coach Federation) and was responsible for the selection, professional training and development of approx 700 coaches and the service they provided.

 

International Experience:  Liz is a speaker at conferences and forums around the world and has/had coaching clients in the US, Switzerland, Germany, France, Serbia, Bulgaria, India, South Sudan, Madagascar, Central Africa, Nepal,  Myanmar and the Gulf as well as throughout the UK    

Coach Training Approach: experiential with solid grounding in the philosophy and principles resulting in Coaches who can actually Coach.. Liz is as committed  to developing coaching and mentoring skills in leaders and managers as she is to training Executive Coaches to encourage the development of coaching cultures in the work place
