Jane Mitchell

Jane develops communication and training programmes on values and ethics, leadership & decision making. She is a communicator who excels in helping her clients to join dots and close gaps between rhetoric and reality.  

 

Jane began her early professional career in television broadcasting at the BBC cutting her programme making teeth on such TV icons as Tomorrow’s World, Grange and Blue Peter.

She then left the world of public broadcasting to explore corporate production.

 

In the mid 1990’s, through longterm working relationships with clients, she began developing a more strategic Internal Communication offering, and was the co-creator of Action Based Communications®, an effective and strategic approach to internal communications.

 

Since 2005, Jane has worked as a communications consultant, for organisations large and small, in both the public and private sector. Her work with RollsRoyce plc, with whom she worked in the early 2000’s, led her into the area of communicating and embedding Global Ethics programmes.

 

In this capacity her clients include PwC, BAE Systems, HSBC, KPMG, Cable&Wireless, GMAC, Diageo, BP, BT, Tesco, Anglo American and Serco.

She worked closely for a number of years with the Ethics & Compliance leadership team in BP plc advising on how to most effectively embed an ethical culture, having helped their L&D leaders to design a programme which rolled out in the US and UK wef October2011.

 

Jane is also involved with a number of external organisations such as the Institute of Business Ethics (IBE), for whom she runs regular workshops.

She is also a Board member of the communications agency, Karian and Box,

Currently President of the UK Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
